A format is marked encoder not found

You see: In Batch Export, a preset marked (encoder not found). In Export Video, a format that cannot be chosen.

Why: Each preset needs an encoder that your copy of ffmpeg includes, and builds of ffmpeg differ in which encoders they carry. ShotWork checks before you export, so a batch never fails partway for want of one. The copy in use may be the one ShotWork fetched, one you supplied under Settings › Components…, or one it found on your PATH.

Fix:

  1. Pick another preset or format for now.
  2. To change which ffmpeg ShotWork uses, open Settings › Components…, pick Exporting and thumbnails, and either choose Download Again for the copy ShotWork fetches or Use a File I Already Have… for a build that carries the encoder.

If that didn't work: The panel in Settings › Components… says which ffmpeg ShotWork is using and where it came from; put that in a problem report with the preset's name. See Components.
