Getting started

Shotwork opens a video, records where each shot starts and ends, and keeps that record in a shot list. Nothing is exported while you mark, so the cost of marking a two-hour film is one open and no render time.

Three things before you mark anything: get Shotwork running, let it fetch the two components it plays and exports through, and read the rights notice it shows the first time it opens.

• Install Shotwork covers both, including what to do while there is still no packaged installer.
• First launch has the rights notice.

Then go to Marking shots, which opens with a tour of the window.
