Downbeats are unavailableΒΆ

You see: "Downbeats unavailable for this track. Showing beats only." under a song's Downbeats checkbox. Or the Downbeats box unticking itself. Or, in Downbeat Engine, Failed -- see details below. or Verify failed -- see details below., with an error in a box.

Why: Downbeats come from an optional engine. Ticking Downbeats without it opens Downbeat Engine, and the box unticks if you close that without installing. With the engine installed, some songs still defeat it; Shotwork then shows beats only, and remembers that for the file so it does not keep retrying. An install or verification can fail on a network problem, too little disk space, or a part that did not download.

Fix:

  1. For a box that unticks, choose Download in Downbeat Engine, and wait for Installed and verified.
  2. For one song that shows beats only, tick Manual downbeats: every and set how many beats make a bar.
  3. For a failed install, check your internet connection and that about 400 MB of disk space is free, then choose Download again.
  4. For a failed verification, choose Remove, then Download again.

If that didn't work: The text in the error box is the exact failure; copy it when you ask for help. See Downbeat engine and Beats and downbeats.
