Shotwork

Open a finished video once, mark every shot worth keeping, and describe each one. Build reels from that library later, instead of hunting through the film again.

  • Getting started

Installing Shotwork, the two components it downloads, and the rights notice it shows the first time it opens.

    Install and first launch

  • Marking shots

In and out points, moving around a source, automatic shot detection, interest points, and the metadata the reel editor runs on.

    Mark a source

  • Building a reel

Order, trim and roll clips; music with a beat grid; fades, overlay templates, cards, and a length budget you can see while you edit.

    Cut a reel

  • Exporting

Batch-export marked shots as clips, render a reel to one video, or hand a reel to Resolve, Premiere or Final Cut as a timeline.

Frame accuracy

Every cut lands on the frame you chose. Exports re-encode rather than copy the stream, because a stream copy snaps to the nearest keyframe and moves your cut. Exporting takes longer for it, and the frame you marked is the frame you get.
